I think learning a skilled trade is more valuable than education these days. The guy who put a new roof on my parents' house after the hurricanes had floated over on a homemade boat from Cuba four months earlier.

He had experience as a roofer and was also a master carpenter ... so four months after arriving here with nothing but the clothes on his back he is not only making money hand over fist but employing a dozen other people.

Someone highly skilled in a trade will never want for work.
