I'm glad that someone in Congress is finally looking into this issue. Aren't you?

Relative to all the other abuses in the markets, I think it's an issue that deserves to be at the bottom of the list.

The only people I see trying to make naked shorting into an "issue" are a small group of promoters of scammy stocks (Dave Patch, Garry Valinoti, James Dale Davidson, ICI, RGM Communications et al), and a larger group of naive retail speculators who have bought the fantasy that somehow "naked shorting" is the reason they lost money on their penny POS pump job.

I want to see some promoters go to jail, instead of being slapped on the wrist years after the offense. I want to see some bad brokers go to jail, instead of those "neither admit nor deny" deals they make with NASD after ripping off their clients. I want to see the SEC have some teeth, and a larger budget, and put some of the bad guys away.

Don't you?
