A zionist is a purely secular reference to someone who believed in the creation of a jewish state. There are zionists of every stripe-from the fundamentalists to those who believe in co-existence with a palestinian state. Yes, a state could have been created in Brazil, but why would they have wanted anything except their historical homeland for 5500 years?
