I'm not rich either, but over the years I've managed to squirrel away a little bit - always living below my means. Now, unemployed, I'm living off my stocktrading account. SS may be all I have to buy dogfood with in a few years, and I don't like Bush messing with it. This is, after all, a guy who invaded a country based on bad intel, neocon advice and a desire to show up Poppy. Why should I trust him with the SS I've been paying since I was fourteen? For about 15 of those years I was self-employed and paying the whole 12.4% with no way to deduct my way out of it!
