are you for or against our support of Israel?

We have no choice. We have to support Israel. Besides, it is the right thing to do. We can never let Israel down.

However, we don't have to support their right wing government. For Israel to survive they have to find accommodation with the Palestinians. I don't know the answer to that and I don't think their current government know anymore than I do.

Taiwan?

We don't really owe them anything. But, I think we should help them find the best deal possible. In the far east, it is all about "face". There really isn't much more to it than that. In the end, there is a compromise where everybody saves "face".

It would be tragic to go to war over somebody losing "face".

South Korea?

They are an important ally. We should do what we can to maintain the alliance. We have to find an alternative to war with North Korea. North Korea can be contained. The longer the better. Time is on our side. It would be impossible for North Korea to hold up for very long. The danger is that North Korea could start a war just before they break up internally. That would be tragic.
