“A culture of life”, is code for what?

Pro-choice and pro-life are definitely politicized code words for pro-abortion and pro-stop all abortions. We never see parades of feminists cheering for the women who have made the ‘choice’ to continue their pregnancies and we do not see pro-life people developing alternatives for ant control in their kitchens. Pro-lifers support the extermination of ants in the kitchen and condemn the murder of cell clusters containing human DNA.

Of course, the context of the pro-whatever issue is not ants, it is humans. It is not simply viable DNA either, since we do not condemn the practice of extracting a viable organ (from a dead person) to be transplanted. There are two very distinct qualifications of what makes one human or not. One is the DNA, and the other is enmeshment with a soul. You can not murder a tree, although you can certainly violate the environment by corrupt and irresponsible cutting practices that leave it stripped of the ability to produce and thrive in a healthy manner.

The primary issue regarding abortion relates to, who would be the recipient of unjust treatment when the pregnancy is to be terminated vs continued.

Murder is the unjust killing of an innocent human being. Denial of choice regarding the privacy of one’s body is a crime of conscience.

You can NOT establish a law of the land that will be respected by the governed, until or unless you have agreement on the terms. We do not and will never have agreement about when or if there is soul involvement. Even where we do have agreement about the involvement of a soul, we do not have agreement about the time and circumstance of ensoulment.

Any law that Bush supported would be a fool hearty failure unless it takes all of that into consideration. To introduce the phrase ‘a culture of life’ as a basis for considering the question seems to me to be a fair foundation for discussion. If it is simply a new synonym for what has been pro-life, then any discussion springing from it is doomed.
