Not all drugs. DEA has jumped the Mexican gov't about what it considers "nasty" drugs- -codeine, hydrocodone, amphetamines, etc. FOr those you need a doctor's prescription just like here. Unless, of course, the pharmacist "forgets".

(Lots of luck being the Gringo suing in Mexican courts.)
