I think the issue with starvation is that it is not actually killing someone--it is letting nature take its course. Drugs would be euthanasia, which is very controversial.

I think this woman's parents should have the right to take over her care and release her husband from any responsibility/liability. As I understand it, he may not have always acted in her best interests, and may benefit financially. I am unclear what the legal status of the parents' divorce petition is at the moment. I thought that might have been a workable compromise. I think her parents really are trying to act in her best interests.
