I confess I find libertarianism essentially a selfish doctrine as well, and selfish to an extent that (imo) might rupture the fabric of society. I have always thought I understood libertarianism better than I understood chaos theory (although cosmic has tried to educate me on it, but I've prove fairly resistant). I am fairly libertarian socially, but socialistic economically, for pretty much the same reasons Grainne is.

I feel I am quite similar to Grainne in both my perceptions of libertarianism, and in my feelings about the economic side of the libertarian agenda- could you be more specific about where you feel my ignorance (and presumably Grainne's) lies?
