We have no choice. We have to support Israel. Besides, it is the right thing to do. We can never let Israel down. How much thought went into this? Do you realize that Israel was founded as a Jewish state on land that was primarily owned by Muslims, those Muslims were largely kicked out during Israel's war of independence and not allowed to return to land that they owned after the war finished, not granted citizenship in the land Israel now occupied and made homeless? The UN was founded on the belief that people of a certain geography should have the right of self determination, and Israel denied this right for the majority of the population in the land where it was founded. The US should support this? If a Palestinian refugee marries an Israeli woman, he can't gain citizenship or buy land. Why should the US "all me are created equal" support that policy? Why does the "freedom of religion" US support a Jewish Israel with all the implications that implies (some religions are less than others) instead of a freedom of religion Israel where all religions are equal? We don't really owe them anything. But, I think we should help them find the best deal possible. In the far east, it is all about "face". There really isn't much more to it than that. In the end, there is a compromise where everybody saves "face". It would be tragic to go to war over somebody losing "face". Hmmm, I see. Never mind! You haven't put much thought into any of these. The US supports Taiwan to help them save face?
