In the first instance, yes, but if the virus has lost its potency or become otherwise attenuated as result of human-to-human transfer then I would contend that is cause for optimism. On the other hand, it would indicate the development of antibodies in the affected people and surely that is also cause for optimism? And if true, would that not show that a successful vaccine could be made? Unlike HIV.
