Sr.K,
Hi!!

Excellent points...But, how wouldn't DELL further benefit by not extracting all the profits from their sales on ink? Is the overhead DELL would "inherit" that heavy? Thus, the current margin decreasing?

A few years back I had a conversation with an IBM guy over in Connecticut at a wrestling tournament...During a break I heard him mention to another parent: "Carly Forina"...We began talking and eventually the conversation turned to the possible vulnerability of HP's market share if and when DELL went after them on the ink...I had read that HP was possibly receiving an 80% profit margin on ink...He told me that IBM had information that showed HP garnering way over a 100% profit...He spoke strongly of how HP's achilles heel would come when some one cut into this huge profit...

Best, Kemble
