FFL on the FOOL writes about gas prices

I've been following gas prices via AAA's site at fuelgaugereport.com for months and months.

The prices are updated daily based on the price of gas at the time of the last credit card swipe each day at nearly 60,000 gas stations around the country.

The all time record was $2.054 set last May. Today gas is at $2.048.
Prices have been increasing almost a penny a day for a couple of weeks now. It's kinda fun to watch. I guess I can say that because I drive less than 4000 miles a year.

Although these prices have already been forcasted, I wonder if we'll see a rash of newspaper articles and television stories about the gas prices. Remember those from last year?

Mostly I see people are complacent...complaining but not curbing their driving. I think it really will take $3 a gallon before there is a change in consumer habits. At $3 a gallon, a hybrid vehicle finally pays for itself during it's lifetime.
