So does mine, which is one of the points I've been trying to make. There can be more than one earnest and sincere approach to a happier and safer world and reasonable people can disagree on what the best route is. There's no reason to disparage the motives of the competition simply because they are competition. Their judgment, maybe, but not their motives. <g>

...and that is essentially selfish, on my part, because I figure a happier safer world is a better world for me and my offspring

I understand and agree with your usage of the word. We have discussed this before. That's not the usage I've been working with. The original usage was neither yours nor mine. I took the original usage to be that "different flavor of selfish" and I objected to the disparagement.
