Mytec Appoints New President and C.E.O.
Mytec Technologies Inc., which specializes in privacy and security technologies, announced today that Thomas Grecco has been appointed as Mytec President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 22, 1997. The appointment was unanimously ratified by Mytec's Board of Directors.
Mr. Grecco takes over the position from Mytec co-founder Dennis Hollingshead , who has been elected Chairman of Mytec. Mr. Hollingshead will continue as President of Counterforce, Mytec's wholly-owned security alarm monitoring division.
"This appointment is a very important step forward as Mytec moves from the development stage to full commercialization of our biometric products," said Mr. Hollingshead. "Mr. Grecco brings with him a wealth of experience with commercial high tech products."
Previously, Mr. Grecco worked for Tandem Computers Canada Limited, where he served as President and CEO since 1994. From 1991 to 1994, he served as Vice President, Sales and Operations, Government, Commercial and Financial Area. He has worked for Olivetti Canada Limited and Canada Systems Group.
"I am very excited about joining such a dynamic, leading-edge company," said Mr. Grecco. "I am looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead as we begin commercialization of Mytec's biometric products."
Mytec's Board of Directors also announced that the Company co-founder, Dr. George Tomko, has resigned as Chairman effective immediately. Dr. Tomko will remain a board member and Chief Scientific Officer until December 1, 1997. He will continue as a consultant to Mytec.
Mytec Technologies Inc. is developing optical processing techniques which allow an individual's unique finger pattern to be used either for positive identification or as an encryption key to code data. Mytec's products are designed to enable secure transmission of information across the Internet and to eliminate fraud associated with unauthorized use of health, welfare, credit and financial services cards. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary Counterforce, Mytec also provides alarm monitoring services to more than 600 partner/dealers who sell, install and service security alarm systems.
