Volunteer at a hospice and find out what really goes on at the end of life.

You and I probably have different senses of humane rather than different bases of knowledge regarding what goes on in hospices. I don't mean to dis hospices. I know that they do good work given the constraints they face, but my notion of humane is that scene from Soylent Green with Edward G. Robinson.
