Your story is heartbreaking, Festus. It brought back memories of when our Golden had his seizures. The dog park was a huge one but everyone took their dogs and moved all the way to the other side. Total silence, our other dogs huddled by my legs watching, with fear in their eyes. My husband and I felt terrified and totally alone (except for one nice woman who walked back to offer up her cell phone). I talked to another woman at work who also had a dog with seizure disorder, and she described the first one as like the world stopping for a few minutes. I can't imagine how sad you must have been when you had to have your dog euthanized. We could hardly even go home from the vet emergency hospital without our dog that first night. He had monitors and tubes and was terrified (he is kind of a very big baby and has a lot of separation anxiety; he is very cuddly and stays close to me by sleeping on the kitchen rug while I cook). I hope our discussion here might help someone else someday if their dog develops a seizure disorder or another chronic or hard-to-treat illness--naturalopathic veterinary care may help them.
