I don't believe that it is legal to sell oil from the Trans-Alaskan pipeline to China or Japan. re:"Too bad though that the cynical politicians in Washington TURNED DOWN Canada's offer of FREE right-of-way for an oil pipeline direct to the upper-midwest of the US (which is the only US region that the Department of Energy says suffers from consistent shortages of supply), in favor of one to the coast that will allow the oil firms to sell the oil to China or Japan --- thus doing much less for the goal of achieving US energy security."
