Some people slip into the grave error of saying "Well, a small, temporary tax hike is OK, because the governor's heart is still in the right place."

That's a total COP OUT.

You don't hear the domestic enemy saying: Well SOME wars protect America from subhuman Islam, or SOME private accounts might be OK.

To abandon principle for a flimsy convenient excuse is to destroy one's career in a sea of BobDole's Disease...
