TGEN - major skunking from this news. I haven't followed them closely much, how major is this or do we have a sweet rat buy here?
Targeted Genetics cystic fibrosis drug fails trial

NEW YORK, March 17 (Reuters) - Targeted Genetics Corp. (TGEN.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday said its experimental treatment for cystic fibrosis failed to meet the primary goal of a mid-stage trial, and that the company will no longer study the medicine.
The Seattle-based company scrapped its development program for the medicine, called tgAAVCF, after it failed to improve lung function, compared to placebo, in a Phase II trial among patients with mild to moderate cystic fibrosis. The disease, caused by a faulty gene, causes dangerous amounts of mucous to build up in the lungs, which can become infected. |
