Hybrids are already available. All the tax incentives in the world will not change the public's opinion of cracker box pieces of crap that can only be driven 100 miles between charges. As I said, as long as we are a mobile society, the need for oil is going to be there...NOT to even mention the freight industry in the USA, which depends on lots of fuel whether by truck or rail.
