I'm sure that would be true if that was the type of product being offered on the market....

But, Honda and Toyota have pretty good reputations for reliable products, and their hybrid models are flying off the dealer lots right now (at full sticker or more) and back-ordered all over the place... while SUV sales have recently hit an air-pocket and fallen 10% - 15%.

Above $2 a gallon for gas, I would expect to see much more of the above happening --- particularly since there are many more hybrids scheduled to come on the American market over the next three years, including models from the Big Three in Detroit.
