Generally speaking, that is exactly what I am saying. It is hard to put a price on technology if it is turned against you.

Egypt seeks $332 mln in U.S. arms, equipment

WASHINGTON, Sept 3 (Reuter) - Egypt plans to buy $332 million in U.S. arms and military medical aequipment, the U.S. Defense Department said on Wednesday.

Cairo's moderate Arab government is one of the biggest recipients of U.S. military and foreign aid and the new sales would include $100 million in equipment and training for a 650 bed International Medical Center to be built in Egypt.

The biggest arms package on the list announced by the Pentagon included four CH-47D ``Chinook'' military transort helicopters built by Boeing Co.(BA). They will cost $149 million.

Egypt will also buy 32 ``Harpoon'' anti-ship missiles built by McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Co. (BA - news) for $51 million. They would be mounted on Egyptian F-16 attack jets.

Cairo also intends to buy 84 MK-46 torpedoes along with ship and helicopter launching accessories for $32 million. The torpedoes are built by Alliant Techsystems Inc. (ATK)
