ild,

I heard this on the radio today. The 500, the Freestyle, and the Mustang are Ford's bright spots. Bright spots in a abyss of darkness.

I passed on my 2005 Mustang convertible for reasons I cannot state here. I think it will be a better car next year, and I don't mind the wait. And besides, I was told last Thursday that I could get my convertible in October <ng>

C&A is dead, but that has not been a secret for a couple of months. Several good friends are now looking for work, and there is no work to be found in Detroit. I have not seen automotive workers this worried in a very long time. Maybe 13 years or more, as 1991 was the last time there was a deep scare. I have done much work with C&A over the past three years, and I never could understand their strategy in the market. Of course the are owned in part by a guy who is the kiss-of-death in Detroit. That is certainly a part of their downfall.

Of course my F poots expire tomorrow, and they are just starting to get "interesting". Maybe I reload if we get a rally. I just don't see any major rally with oil setting new highs.
