Iqbal Latif claims that Rice said"Pakistan is a model country for the Muslim world"

Another stark example of a distortion of what was actually said!

This is what Dawn reports as having been stated by Rice:

"US Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice said on Wednesday that Pakistan was a pivotal country in the region that could be a model for the Muslim world

Perhaps Latif does not understand the difference between "is a model country for the Muslim world" and "could be a model for the Muslim world".

But whatever the motivation behind the disparity it does question the credibility of what Latif posts.
