Hi all,
Marty, I don't know what to say about the lack of price activity in BNDCY. Maybe people are scared of buying ADRs. Maybe people are scared of the Pacific Rim market with all of the recent financial troubles in Thailand and other markets there. Maybe virtual pets just still aren't that well-known. There definitely isn't enough supply for everyone to have one, or for many people at all to have one. Maybe investors are waiting to see if Tamagotchis have a noticeably big impact on Bandai's overall profits for the year.
All we can know is that Tamagotchis are still very much in demand and that a lot of companies are jumping in on the virtual pet phenomenon as fast as they can. Take a look at the following article about Gibson Greeting's new licensing agreement with Bandai specifically for Tamagotchi products:
  infoseek.com
Here is the first paragraph of the article:
CINCINNATI, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank O'Connell, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gibson Greetings, Inc. (Nasdaq: GIBG), announced today a licensing agreement with Bandai Entertainment, Inc. to develop a line of licensed products centered around this year's hottest multi-million dollar toy craze -- Tamagotchi, the original virtual reality pet.
And by the way, according to the article, greeting cards are now called "individual relationship communication products." Amazing! (And I mean that sarcastically).
Waiting for BNDCY to go back to all full hearts,
