FWIW, I have serious reservations about renditions to countries that have serious human rights violations. I am shocked & sickened at every instance of abuse perpetrated by anyone from our military or our gov't. What I don't know is enough of the particulars to draw the conclusions I see being drawn here. And no one here is privy to or even presented anything remotely close to begin to claim they have an iron clad case to prove their allegations. I'm not interested in conjuring up wild conspiracy theories based on unsubstantiated speculation & anecdotal evidence that is biased & one sided. I have no doubts that most folks who have posted on this subject here are already convinced that Bush, Rumsfeld, Gonzales & others in the Bush Admin; - have created & endorsed a policy that encouraged "widespread" abuses of detainees, unlawful combatants & POW's, - joined Ashcroft in endorsing a policy of "indiscriminately" sweeping up people in the US under the Patriot Act. - knowingly send all manner of prisoners off (renditions) "so they can be tortured." Do I have serious concerns about each of these issues? Absolutely. Does the evidence support the conclusions many of you folks are already convinced are fact? Nope, not even close. In fact, most of the speculation stated as fact here is grossly exaggerated, distorted & false with bits of truth & real facts interspersed throughout each conspiracy theory. And no one seems to want to engage in a reality based discussion of the issues. You have already made up your minds & are unwilling to even look at any facts that discredit your inflexible, irrational opinions. Yet you all are convinced I am the nutcase. Go figure. I'll form my opinions on these issues as time & events unfold. And I'll do it with real facts from credible sources if you don't mind.
