Religion is a private matter and many people take it very seriously. I respect that. All those Muslim, Hindu and Buddhists that have immigrated have every much a right to their religion as Christians have to theirs. I, OTOH, simply want everyone to celebrate it more or less privately and not drag it all into the public concourses. When America was young we had no qualms about climbing the highest hill in every city and planting a cross. The times have changed, and we have a higher level of sensitivity to these matters. Rightly so, IMO, especially considering the makeup of our new citizenry. If a religious theme park was submitting an application for a permit in my city, I'd object, not on religious grounds, but for the same reason I'd oppose a Disney theme park on the same site. That doesn't make me anti-religious. If your town wants it, go for it.
