LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Eastman Kodak Co. said on Wednesday it would close a Rochester, New York facility that produces raw photographic paper base, leading to job cuts and restructuring charges of about $50 million.
Kodak said the charges included $3 million in employee severance costs, but it did not say how many jobs would be lost. A spokesman for the company was not immediately available to comment on any job cuts.
Kodak also said it would record $2 million in "other operational charges."
The company said the closure should be completed by May 18 and said in future it would get its supply of raw paper base from outside suppliers.

More job cuts are on the way for Northwest Airlines workers.
The airline said today it will cut 130 Twin Cities maintenance jobs by May and perhaps as many as 800 more by the end of the year as it removes two dozen DC-9 jets from its active fleet in the latest attempt to reduce steep financial losses.
Major airlines continue to lose billions of dollars as fuel prices remain at historic highs. Earlier this year, Delta Air Lines capped many of its fares, a move that Northwest said at the time would reduce revenue. Northwest is seeking pay cuts from its union workers.
