I have to say that in this case where person does not leave instructions for the family on what to do in the case they enter a brain dead state, that it makes a very difficult situation for the survivors.

Personally I have not given my family any instructions either...though I see from some of the responses on this board that many people should definitely let their families know of their wishes before it's too late.

What I don't understand in this case is that you have the parents that are for keeping thier daughter alive, and the spouse that says her wishes are to die. He's also the one that is providing for her care. If you knew that your spouse would not want to go on every day shitting in a diaper and not know what or where or who they are...it might make sense to pull the plug.

In this case I think that the husband should pass off the responsibility to the parents to take care of their daughter...because they want to do it...and they have hope that she will be rehabilitated. If I was the husband, I would say that Teri wants to die...but you want her to live...and if she can be rehabilitated some day, then it will be a miracle. But miracles are not attended by the meek...you must be bold...so Mom...Dad...take your daughter and provide the care you see fit...and let's pray for a miracle that she may rejoin us.
