re: The reduced government obligation for future payouts does offset the debt. In 50 years? What's the interest on $5Trillion over 50 years? WAG an incremental $7Trillion over and above the principle. The psychology that says our government can do what ever it wants and just put it on the Federal credit card needs to change, NOW. We are in really bad shape, the worst since the end of WW2 and we don't have the social or demographic trends to pull us out as we did then. The Neo's care nothing about budgets. We need some real conservatives to put the house in order. John
