>>The National Council Against Health Fraud (NCAHF) claims that of the 46 medical journals published by the Chinese Medical Association, not one is devoted to acupuncture or other traditional Chinese medical practices. <<

LOL. That is because they are looking at a wrong place! In China, the Chinese Medical Association only relates to the practice of the western medicine. TCM has their own Chinese Traditional Medicine Association. And they have little English publication since a lot of TCM is not easy to translate into English or other foreign languages. The medical school is also separated, although many TCM medical school also offer some western medical classes.

And what is very popular in China for the last 3-4 decades is to combine the strength of both western medicine and TCM. Plenty of herbal pills Chinese are taking now have some ingredients of the western medicine.

And BTW, Chinese have been using acupuncture and other TCM practices for thousands of years, and proved they are working great. Why bother to spend big money to do some modern empirical studies now? For whom? For the Westners? That will be the task for the West since they have much more resources. No, it does not bother China if the West does not believe in the TCM.
