Congress Back Tomorrow?
ace.mu.nu

Tom Delay: "Speaker Hastert is empowered to call the House back into emergency session, which he will do tomorrow afternoon - Palm Sunday - at one o'clock."

From The Corner.

Seems a little late-- she will have been starved for 48 hours by then. A normal person could go for 48 hours without food without major incident, but obviously Terri is not the healthiest patient in the world.

Still-- I suppose it's something.

Thanks to an unknown tipster.

Although... You know, I'm sort of annoyed by the "Palm Sunday" thing. Why the hell is Tom DeLay even bringing that up? Is the GOP delaying coming back today just for the symbolic appeal of Palm Sunday?

What the hell?

And there's an obvious problem with this: the media, and much of the country, has an (often-irrational) antipathy to those who are religious. Can the GOP get that through their heads and stop making these counterproductive gestures which may appeal to one sector of the base but actually alienate a lot of moderates and liberals, and thereby hurt the possibility to enlist the wider public on their side?

Update: No cite, but I'm informed the Senate is reconvening at 5pm today.
