You may be right about the initial call being in the newsletter. I don't get the letter so don't know from that source; I heard about it on-air later that he had made the call and felt vindicated by his call as it confirmed an analysis that I had already made; thus his call was indirectly a disservice to me.
Another interesting fact; he stopped selling his subscription to libraries years ago, the only newsletter that I know of that won't sell to libraries. At one time, he claimed that he was staying on air to help educate the public about investing. Hard to reconcile that with refusing to sell to libraries.
