Peak Oil Presentation in the US Congress - by Roscoe Bartlett, Chairman of the Projection Forces Subcommittee of the Armed Services Committee NOTE: This is the original story referenced in my previous post. ----------------- With the presentation of Representative Roscoe Bartlett to the House of Representatives on March 14th, 2005, Peak Oil has finally been recognized by the US Congress. Dr. Bartlett’s presentation should hopefully serve as a wake up call to those congresspeople who have no previous awareness of this issue. While he emphasized the necessity of conservation and a program to develop alternatives, he stressed the implications of Jevon’s Paradox, which states that often when one works to solve a problem, the solution really makes the situation worse.
