Indira Gandhi tried dictatorship in the mid 70s. The Indian masses rejected it. Threw out Indira's party when she called for elections. The policticans who won had just been released from jail!

India seems to have made the fastest progress when its central government has gotten weaker (only coalitions in power). Explain that...

India is very diverse. Is China too?
