Peter, the Republicans made it impossible for startups to hire any talented individual that had diabetes, until the Democrats forced health insurance to cover it.

Meanwhile, the big corporations had diabetes coverage because they have the "power" to write it into their contracts with the health insurance company. This is not true for small businesses.

In fact, if it weren't for the Dems, the health insurance industry would have not issued insurance to small businesses. You'll note there's an article on Aetna and others in the 90s on exactly this. Insurance companies would not take applications from small businesses. They created a law to make this common practise illegal. By the way, even to this day, the law does not make it illegal for a small business not to get declined from the insurance companies. It only makes it illegal for the insurance companies not to accept applications from small businesses. Of course, the law doesn't say anything about how long they can sit on those applications or how they will knowingly not fulfill claims from small business because they know they don't have the purchasing power. It's commonly accepted knowledge in the industry.

I could go on and on how the Dems have consistently helped small businesses. This is not the case for the Republican party. They are for the religious conservative and the large corporations, but not the small businesses which is the domain of the Dems.
