This case has had years of judicial fact finding done, and I hope they are not going to try to do it all over again. This is a bad case, with bad law being made. I hope we get a judge with the guts to stand up to the pressure. But I doubt it.

My feelings exactly.

Congress needs to defer to the States on issues like these. Federal intrusion into these types of things is totally unwarranted.

But you might be missing the political end of things.

In my estimation, W and the GOP are supporting Jeb not only because they have to but because they know how important Florida is to presidential politics.

I would bet you dollars to doughnuts that a Florida poll would show that most Floridians side with the GOP on the issue.
