In my short 39 years I've never known anything but the intent to strive for racial equality. Equality is important but I'm gutsy enough to say (Kind of like Bill Cosbey) that everyone has to do their part to get there. We're not there yet and some of it has to do with lack of effort and a serious lack of good parenting in the black community. By the same token a you can blame effort and parenting for many or most of the behavioral issues in the white community as well. Since how we speak is many times how we're judged on initial impression I'd say its of paramount importance for blacks to raise the level of their communication skills. Certainly white people have this same problem but its not even close to the ghetto speak I hear from WAY TOO MANY blacks.
