It isn't about its beauty....although there are parts of the ANWR that are beautiful and there also are parts that are ugly. Its not about the number of species of animals..........as you point out, there are many areas of the world with more species and diversity.

It has to do with the fact that it is untouched.....undeveloped by humanity. It needs to stay that way. All the great cities of the world have areas within their borders that are 'forever wild'. Just as cities need such places so does the planet.

If oil is drilled in the ANWR......I will be surprised!
