2. Overwhelming force. Check? I don't think so. When overwhelming force is used casualties go down over time...not up. In Iraq we clearly have overwhelming force. No force in Iraq can stand against us. Unfortunately they aren't stupid enough to try and stand against the US army and marines. An insurgency can continue for a long time against overwhelming force as long as it doesn't present targets that can be overwhelmed. Tim
