Personally, I strongly disagree with starving this woman to death just because she is not as intelligent now as we expect human beings to be.

We don't kill retarded children. They get special care. Similarly, we shouldn't kill a person just because she is no longer functioning as she once did.

A coma is a "vegetative state". This woman is not in a coma. She is awake and conscious, but retarded. She will never recover to the cognitive functions of a "normal" human being, but that only makes her handicapped. Not OK to kill.

Her husband says that she once told him she would not want to be kept alive in such a state. Maybe so. Or maybe he is lusting after the $1mn he is going to get when she dies.

That's my two cents anyway. And it has nothing to do with religion.
