Did the doctor stab a knife into Terry and observe that she didn't "feel" it? I doubt it.

In times such as this, when we are debating a life, I would personally rather err on the side of keeping someone alive. Not on the side of starving that person to death.

Meanwhile, I have a slight suspicion about her husband - that he just wants the money and is perhaps inventing this whole story of "she didn't want to be kept alive any less than the perfect-looking smart cookie that she used to be".

Why didn't he divorce her years ago, when he started living with another woman? Or when they had a child? Or when the had the second child? The answer seems to be MONEY.

Then again, it is entirely possible that she did say that when she was at the height of her beauty, youth, and vanity. And if she could communicate now, perhaps she would try to preserve whatever consciousness she has left.

The point is we just don't know.

We don't starve to death retarded children who cannot feed themselves, who just stare into the distance and bang their heads against the wall. Similarly, we cannot justify starving this woman for a month or however long it will take for her to die.

It is just not human. That's what I think anyway.
