There may be gold in the central zone !

Tuesday March 22 2005 - In the News

The National Post reports in its Tuesday edition that a defence lawyer for John Felderhof Monday produced exploration reports in court that showed Bre-X Minerals' Busang property may have contained some gold after all. The Post's Drew Hasselback writes that Joe Groia, counsel for Mr. Felderhof, used 1989 prospecting studies to challenge testimony by expert witness Graham Farquharson, who has told court the Busang gold project was full of "red flags" because it lacked the tell-tale geological signs of a gold property. Mr. Groia cited a 1989 report from geologists Rogers and Associates. The geologists found several rock formations at Busang that suggested the presence of gold. "You'll agree with me that there are some anomalies here that are prospective," Mr. Groia asked. "Yes," Mr. Farquharson replied. Mr. Groia then referred to a 1989 drill hole report by Westralian Resource Projects. The report said that the majority of drill holes revealed gold grades of "possible economic interest." Mr. Groia challenged Mr. Farquharson to find any passage in the report where Westralian states that it is not interested in the property's potential. "It's not here," said Mr. Farquharson.
