An interesting tidbit I've run across that totally pisses me off about our fearless bleeders once again: Each year I poke around looking for solar home kits to see what's feasible and practical, etc. This year I've discovered that their is a world wide shortage of large home systems and that prices have gone up as a result, 10-15%. Does anybody in the USA even make solar panels? Last year, the most efficient panels I could find (18%) were from Korea. For Seattle, I believe I'll need upwards of 25% and a reduction in costs of 50%. That 300 billion, going on a trillion, on the midEast wars would have gone a looong way to making the US the world leaders in silicon solar technology rather than the leaders in engineering more debt.
