I had posted about a week ago about how specialists and market makers trade backwards.

Case in point, check out DRRAP today.

finance.yahoo.com

Betweeen 11:30 and noon, I sold 500 to the bid at 15.01. The market makers immediately raised the inside bid to 15.50 to try and re-sell my shares. I slapped the bid at 15.50 for another 1000 shares in two more lots of 500. Returning from lunch, I see that they offloaded my shares between 16 and 16.68.

If one buys the explanation from Wall Street, a chart like this would suggest buying is going on based on a higher market price. Actually selling and share distribution is going on but only the seller and the market makers marking his shares up for resale know that.
