assuming of course he has nothing to hide wrt his treatment of his wife that might have led to her condition.. Why assume otherwise? Because someone is are trying to make a case? If he had done something actionable, the parents would have brought it out in court. There was no love lost. Everybody is acting like this is a new case with new evidence.
