Clearly, the ability to clearly enunciate and explain his views is not important to you. When a case comes before the Court, one of the most important and closely watched areas are the probing questions that the Justices ask the attorneys for each side. These questions and answers are supposed to assist the Justices in their decision making process and inform the public as to their thinking. Thomas rarely if ever opens his mouth during these occasions. I'm not saying that every Justice needs to be a great orator, but the least we can expect is an occasional contribution to the debate.
