Ted, if all things were equal, I'd defer to the judgement of the husband over the parents. However, all things are not equal because the husband's motives are suspect. Legally this probably means squat, but morally it makes all the difference in my mind.

Seriously, if this were me, and my parents were trying to keep me alive when by all accounts I'm a vegetable, I would kick my parents butts from heaven to hell when they died......assuming such places exist.

I had a discussion with my wife about this, and we both agreed to keep each other on life support as long as possible. The reason is because I'll meet my maker anyway, so why speed up the inevitable? Death is irreversible, so if it can be helped, I'll let God decide my time rather than make such a decision myself or leave it to someone else.

As for yourself, some on this thread would argue that you already exhibit all of the intellectual qualities of a vegetable ...
