She pronounced the Mideast thaw real, and said she was "flabbergasted" by it. She noted the death of Arafat as creating opportunity, noted the improvements in Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia & said she was for the first time hopeful about the outcome in Iraq.

What is so absolutely amazing is the raw power Arafat wielded while alive. Most of it symbolic of course, but wide spread and very powerful none the less. I don't think anyone could have imagined what has happened and is still happening since his death. I know I never realized how drastic the change would be after he passed. I think the world has been minus a bit of pure evil ever since.
